Practice Tests

Do a practice test at home

  •  This must be done few days before the school test.

  •  This allows time for you to fix any problem areas.

  •  Do the test alone and without any help.

  •  It must feel like a real test.

  •  Always mark and correct your work!

  •  Only use practice tests which have memos available.


DO NOT CRAM THE NIGHT BEFORE!

  • This will stress you out if things go wrong.

  • Working at night will affect your sleep.

  • You do not want to be tired when you write the actual test at school.

  • If you need to cram, it means you have not been completing Steps 1 - 4.


Look at this sample schedule:

Monday: 

  • Practice for 45 minutes and mark work for 15 minutes.


Tuesday: 

  • 15 minutes of Mental Maths 


Wednesday: 

  • Practice for 45 minutes and mark work for 15 minutes.

  • It went badly :(


Thursday: 

  • Re-do the work from yesterday.

  • Skip Mental Maths.


Friday

  • REST


Saturday

  • You have a test next week Tuesday.

  • Do a practice test at home.

  • Mark your work.

  • It went okay. Some areas need attention.


Sunday

  • REST


Monday: 

  • The test is tomorrow!

  • Revise the work which you struggled with on Saturday.

  • Stop working at 4 p.m. LATEST 5 p.m.

  • Doing Maths in the evening or at night will affect your sleep!

  • Go to bed early.


Tuesday - TEST DAY

  • Page through some work before the test, alone.

  • Do not let your friends confuse you or stress you out.

  • Drink enough water! Your brain needs to be hydrated.

  • Do your best. You are prepared!
